Depending on where you live, the inspector can be very strict about what types of outlets need to be installed for repairs. I had a couple of outlets that the inspector said needed AFCI protection and being within 6ft of the sink required GFCI protection as well. He recommended using an AFCI switch and then adding tamper-resistant GFCI sockets. This setup can get expensive very quickly. Fortunately, I've found that these switches have a dual purpose, providing both AFCI and GFCI protection throughout the circuit, making installation easier and cheaper than inspectors recommend. long gone. I didn't install it in the fridge as I've heard too many horror stories about undetected triggering and food spoilage. No problems with the microwave, the computers and their backup UPSs, the vacuum cleaner, or anything else I've hooked up so far. The only problem I had wasn't the switch's fault. This requires the circuit neutral to be screwed into the circuit breaker itself. In two circuits the neutral wire was too short and couldn't reach the switch and I didn't want to move the switches to get them closer. I found Ideal's "Spliceline Orange (Pack of 20)" here at Revain which solved the problem. Simply unplug about half an inch from the neutral extension cord and plug it into the connector. They are UL listed for use in control panels and control boxes. If I find something that disables these toggles, I'll update my review.
