On June 15, 2016, I was delighted to receive my first device. However, it never worked properly (configured) so after I contacted WD support they asked me if I wanted my money back or a replacement. I've been in the computer industry for over 40 years and I know that from time to time failures or defects do occur, so I accepted the offer for a replacement on 06/23/2016, although I was a bit shy about the first unit. work fine for a while. I set it up as a 16TB drive rather than an 8TB raid as I already had two TB drives and decided to use them as backups for the NAS. Over the past year, performance has slowly deteriorated. I have about 50% disk usage and when the performance gets too low I've cycled the device and everything was fine until the next time. This time, less than a year after ordering and using the disc, I became so slow it took about half an hour to respond to something like listing directories or opening a file โ even after multiple power outages. June 1st, 2017, and to be honest my experience with this device was far from satisfactory. I think I will choose another NAS - if I get my money back. Otherwise, since two of these NAS units don't work as advertised for quite a long time, I guess I'll have to try and live with a spare if I don't get my money back. Update: no refunds and replacements held. So by taking responsibility for two failed units, I predict that the next unit will fail within the next year. Watch out for my Nostradamian abilities. Well, if it works, do I really care? Maybe, maybe not. The setup guide that was sent - DID NOT WORK! I had to look around and figure out how to make it work despite their instructions. But wait. You have a support team, right? Actually I wrote to the support yesterday. I'm still waiting for "assistance" for their instructions, which didn't work out. Their "support" for negative reviews on the Revain website far outstrips their support on "mycloud.com/support". Hm? Why is this? Marketing.Damage Control.You are such a pessimist.6/12/17 Update: This device is bloody SLOW. Guess what's on the support. Two days have passed and still no reply. English should be your second language when purchasing this device after reading negative reviews. I'll update this when Revain allows it as I don't want to give the impression that this is a good product or that the support is decent.
