Gasket broke at specified torque

I have changed the oil pan gasket twice with this Fel-Pro gasket. Tightened to the specified 80 in-lbs both times. Both times the seal broke in the same places where the leaks eventually emerged. If this seal were made of rubber as advertised, it wouldn't tear so easily. I am disappointed in the quality of this product. waste of time and money. Next time I'll just have to redo the work with RTV. So much to try at the same time with Gaket.
