We had a very violent thunderstorm and it grilled a Roku, an Apple TV, three cable boxes and a Samsung 6000 series TV (despite the fact that we have a networked filter had network cables for the whole house and all devices connected to the network filter). Research has shown that HDMI cables are very sensitive to electromagnetic pulses (EMP). Lightning doesn't have to strike your home for EMP to burn out all devices with an HDMI cable connected. I bought HDMI surge protectors to protect my TVs and devices. I bought these surge protection cables as another layer of protection against EMI for my TVs and devices. Can't give 5 stars as we haven't had another storm yet.
