I didn't like all the negative reviews! It's fast and makes great fluffy snow. Before that I had a Hawaiian ice maker; the plastic cap broke. This is very strong and durable. This machine makes great ice for frozen drinks using regular ice cubes. However, if you want fluffy snow, you need to craft an ice block that can be shaved off! That's easy. Just freeze water in old yogurt or sour cream containers, or scoop out what looks like a hole. I'll be perfectly honest, it doesn't make the light snow like the Hawaiian; it's more like sleet but still completely melt-in-the-mouth. No need to grind or chew. Once I realized it could be used to make both adult drinks and ice chips that everyone loves, it was easy to decide to keep it! It's made of metal and will last for years! Like it a lot!
