It looks pretty good at the top of the tree and the swirling snowflake lights above the tree are beautiful. There are three things I don't like about him. 1. The rotating mechanism is noisy. It's not very loud, but it sounds like an aquarium pump about to break. So it's only annoying when the room is quiet. Also, it didn't start right away. It took about a week for the thing to start making noise.2. The color of the light doesn't match the color of the star. I bought a gold star that uses a cold tone LED. The cool tone of the light would look great with a silver star, but it would look striking with a gold star. The golden star must use warm LED.3. The distance between the front and back of the star is about 2.5 inches. Within this gap, the motor/light box is clearly visible. So the front and back of the star look pretty good, but when you are on either side of the tree all you see is this unfinished open side and all the interior work and unfinished surfaces inside the star. And since the light on the gold star has a contrasting color, it is even more unattractive. How difficult would it be to just glue a pretty cover onto the sides of the center part of the star!?
