These connectors are defective. Of the 30 connectors used, only 2 connectors successfully passed the post-installation electrical test, representing a failure rate of over 93%. Most of the problems were due to breaks between the inner connector crimp and the cable. It took me days to track down the problems. I'm an electrical engineer with over 30 years of LAN experience and have successfully used Platinum Tools crimping tools with Platinum Tools EZ Pass Thru connectors for many years with a failure rate of less than 0.5% (although they are more expensive). Using the cheaper Cable Matters connectors was a total disappointment and a waste of time and money. I am now unable to return Cable Matters connectors as the 30 day return period has expired (mainly due to wasted time troubleshooting connector issues). In summary, you should avoid this product as it will not allow you to successfully connect RJ45 permanently. In the meantime, I'm going back to the more expensive Platinum Tools EZ Pass Thru RJ45 connectors.
