Review on Enhance Engine Performance with ECOGARD SE-1 Oil Filter by Chris Willis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Exact compatibility question?

Filter looks professionally made and packaged. The pack lists the different tractors it fits. My Briggs & Stratton Intek engine manual lists part number 492932S for the STANDARD filter (black) and 696854 for the PREMIUM filter (yellow). The new filter's packaging is listed as 492932 as well as several other Briggs & Stratton numbers it will replace. The product description has even more numbers that this filter will replace (including premium 696854) - so I ordered it because I wanted a premium (larger capacity) filter. BUT, even though the packaging says "Premium" (and who knows what that means) (and the color of the product is black), the packaging does NOT say "Premium 696854". Standards to meet the PREMIUM filter specifications defined by Briggs & Stratton they want to advertise for it. So, is this a premium, higher capacity filter or not (especially according to the definition or specification by Briggs & Stratton? It's more of a disappointment at this point.
