I read the reviews and made sure to order 6mm pins. I bought these to support the DIY shelves for my new Ivar system (as I can't get them right now). I didn't use them for this, but I liked them so much I kept them to hang my craft supplies on. They are smooth, even and durable. I don't have to worry about overloading the pens or ruining my stash.
