I bought this device because of the auto power off feature and the LED indicator changes from white to blue after the pen is sharpened. The feature only works with 3 of the 40+ pencils I've sharpened so far. In other cases, the motor keeps running but won't sharpen the pencil after it's been sharpened unless I push the pencil in with light pressure. the same inlet. Update: I ordered a replacement block and the automatic switch-off of the new block only works reliably if I press the pencil harder than usual when sharpening, otherwise the automatic switch-off does not work. It feels like the pressure is putting extra strain on the motor, and the device senses that strain and stops the motor. With an old block I can stick a pencil in the block and the motor will keep running 90% of the time. It looks like the load cell is not working properly. Maybe the second block is bad too, or it's just an unreliable design issue. If you're not interested in an all-purpose sharpener with an auto shut-off feature, buy another model with multiple entry holes. It's cheaper and you won't have any complaints about the auto-off feature as nothing can break. If you really want the auto shutdown feature to work stably and reliably, wait for this company to release version 2.0.
