Getback whips are something of a retro biker thing, so they're not that common anymore. They are used to identify the bike when the owner is an MC member by showing the MC's colors on the bike. As they roll down the road, they act as a kind of "speedometer" - the faster you roll, the more they recede instead of sagging. And in an emergency, they can be used to attract attention. This is all black (no colors) and is weighted to keep it from dangling while the bike is in motion. When stationary, it hangs almost to the footrest and does not get tangled. The clasp is secure and relatively easy to release.
