A penny saved is a penny earned

Facts: 1.8 amps, 220 watts as stated on the back. I bought this fan because I wanted to manage the cost of a succubus powered AC unit here in Tucson where the temperature some days reaches nearly 110 degrees. It gets so hot that my air conditioner only pumps out room temperature air, does nothing and becomes inefficient. I need something to push the air out when my air conditioner can't. It works great. I have a small studio apartment and I probably don't need a 20" fan as it blows a lot more air than I thought it would. It really shocked me but I'm keeping it because it's loud white noise to sleep on (noisy neighbors) and it reduces the time it takes my clothes to dry because I hang them up in my apartment. It usually takes about 9 hours to dry but with this fan it only takes 2. The video I uploaded shows how much air it actually pumps out. These shirts are very wet, and the one that vibrates the most (2nd or 3rd from the wall) is about 12 feet from the fan at the lowest speed. Now in my apartment 96 degrees. The fan is about 7 feet from me and I had to turn it off for a while because my hands were cold. When it comes to cost, I calculated that at 24/7/30 dpm on low it would be around $10/month. a setup that saves me $30 to $40 a month in electricity. It will pay for itself in a few months as it's FREE, so a dime saved is a dime earned. I confess that I enjoy the breeze more than the icy air from the air conditioning. I only use conditioner to keep my body from sweating and that does the job. I often listen to podcasts and have found that I only have to turn the volume up about 10% because the fan noise is a bit louder than the AC unit. Unfortunately the fan I received was USED with DAMAGES. There are stains and scratches on the fan blades, as well as damage where the wires are bent and paint is peeling. Someone has tried (terribly) to cover up the damage with aftermarket paint which is soft and clearly not the cured original paint, possibly anodized. The motor works but nobody pays a new price for it so I sent it back and asked Amazon to send a NEW fan, not a used one. I'm not paying new for someone's broken used fan. This is the only disappointing factor as Revain keeps sending me damaged used items.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
