The dumbell's checkering feels more pronouced than a completely cast dumbell. The dumbell itself weighs a little over 40 lbs (40.3). The rubberized portions feel fairly thick in comparison to some other rubberized dumbells I've owned. Since the dumbell is round it will roll when put down, but the ends themselves are fairly flat so it can be stood upright on the end. It feels balanced but the grips come with a light coat of oil that will need to be cleaned of with a degreaser before you use it.

The rubberized coating is good quality and evenly applied. The handle is very ergonomic. This 40-pound VIGBODY Dumbbell builds out our capacity to work out at home now that Covid-19 has all but shuttered our beloved local YMCA.The barbell has plastic-coated ends and a nicely textured metal-surfaced handle in between. This is a very well made, sturdy weight, that is a forty pounds. It has a metal bar holding the weights on either side and it's going to last forever. These are great for all lifting exercises and seem like the type of weights you would find in the gym. Overall, this is great investment because if you use this weight, it's an investment in yourself getting strong.

This is a nice addition to our home gym. I was tired of changing out the weight plates on our adjustable dumbbells so having this lets me keep working with little pause between exercises. I use the 35lber for one arm rows which works great. Hubby uses it for tricep extensions mostly. I only got one and didn't actually measure it to make sure it's 35lbs, but it's close enough for us. These are a great option for solid barbells. The weight is balanced and durable and the steel grips are shaped to be ergonomic for your hands and rough for a secure grip. I think these are as good as any option for you and will satisfy you for various exercises.

This dumbbell is solid and well made. The handle is comfortable to grip. Husband said he liked using it during work outs as extra. It looks good together with the rest of his dumbbells.

These weights are very good quality and perfect for a home workout. They didn't come packaged very well, but they didn't suffer any damage in shipment. I'd buy more of these for home use. These are solid, comfortable and feel well made.

Very happy about the quality of these dumbbells. I purchased two of them to make a pair. They feel so sturdy and comfortable when I hold them. I am a small framed female at 4ft 11inches so the only time these dumbbells get a bit awkward is when I try to put them over my shoulders to perform squats. the photo shows 2 dumbbells, this is actually for a single weight. the dumbbell is sturdy and the metal handle is comfortable. the black rubber doesn't scratch or mark up my floors.
