I bought these hoping to have a quick and easy way to check the ammonia levels whilst driving my tanks. One went off cycle and still had fish in it. They don't absorb water very well. It's like there's film on the strip to prevent that. At first I only used them to the detriment of half my fish. RIP little friends. So I bought an API master test kit. Began to do tests with drops. I realized Holy Moly, ammonia is through the roof! I focus on a tank with no fish and add 4 parts per million ammonia. I know for sure it's 4 parts because I tested it with the liquid kit for 3 days. So, to test the Atrips again, I dunked them in this tank. There was barely any ammonia reading, although it should have risen above the 3ppm mark. I have attached a photo of the test strip used. Now I have about 80-85 useless test strips. If I could return them I would. Don't waste your money on this, buy a Liquid Master Kit. It takes a little more effort, but your fish life is at stake! Save the Fish!
