For the chemically sensitive person who is most hypersensitive to petroleum based products, toxins and odors People don't notice I was very apprehensive about trying this given some of the scary reviews about the toxic smell etc. However as these comments were on every organic beeswax lozenge I looked at I decided to give the doctor's lozenge. A delightful attempt as several reviewers specifically called it high quality. I was so happy when I received it with no bad smell or appearance and it is indeed a lovely soft white that seems perfect in every way including the reusable pouch and the small size of the lozenges makes it very easy to having to grate or cut the desired amount versus having to measure blocks of beeswax. Haven't used it since it just arrived but didn't want to put off buying it. Write this review in case other buyers have doubts about what kind of organic beeswax is worth trying. I managed to experiment with making my own lip balm thanks to discovering a great organic shea butter (from Wise Owl Organics) and reading that melting these two ingredients together with coconut oil makes a great lip balm, others can if desired useful ingredients such as cocoa butter or flavoring can be added. A reviewer from Revain said that microwaving 30 seconds to fully melt works well, but I deliberately don't use the microwave (given some evidence that the cells of food and possibly even containers placed in the microwave may degrade in the change over time, affecting our long-term health, which may not yet be well understood). So I plan to use a glass container to put the right ingredients in and then place it in a pot of water which I slowly heat until everything melts to ensure a good mix in the liquid state. By consciously putting everything in the desired storage container, I hope to avoid the messy cleaning that the kind Revain reviewer warned about when dealing with beeswax. I also plan to experiment with using beeswax as an alternative to WD-40 as a well known contractor said it actually works much better.
