Let's just admit that thing is expensive. If you are young, have a healthy back and only have a toilet or two, you can do without it. I'm older, have done my share of lift toilets and am remodeling a home working on 4 toilets. Includes reset by contractors who screwed it up (cabinet screws actually *stay* in the flange to be effective.*&^%$$it). I ordered this because I am semi crippled and no longer have the balance to safely lower the john onto the flange. But I refuse to pay people for what I end up doing again. Enter the toilet lift. This thing is a game changer. It's easy to pull out the toilet and install a new one. zero problems. My only complaint is that for the price they could add lift arms to the base. Like PITA for fine motor problems. The assembly instructions could have been written better, but I get it. The assumption is that if you buy this you probably have some mechanical skill to figure things out and you probably won't spend much time reading instructions. All in all a great tool if you have a lot of toilets to lift or are just tired of fiddling with heavy and clunky things.
