just received etc I'm a real freak when it comes to my tanks. I like it when I have fat fish, dense substrate and clear water. I had a problem with surface dirt. There seemed to be a small oily stain, but I don't know the small debris at the end. Either water or I didn't clean it as well as I thought it would. Well I ran it for about 3 hours. This time is enough to skip the water 2-3 times. I turned on my filters. And the surface was clean. I hid it behind the exit so my fish wouldn't decide to rip it off or knock it off when it got bigger. I would recommend it to anyone who has surface cleaning issues. I know it's not necessary in freshwater, but then again, I like anything that gives me ultrapure water without turning my tank into a chemical bath. To update. Works great, changed it several times. The suction cups are great. You actually need to descale the suction cups for the suction cups to work properly. I cleaned the sponge and the amount of crap it picked up was amazing.
