Really great product at a really great price!

After spending an incredible amount of money on a professional gel polish manicure, I did a lot of research and decided to invest in this gel polish lamp and kit. After some (human) trial and error I finally figured out the process and I don't know how I ever justified going to the salon every 4 weeks to get my nails done! I chose this smaller, more compact lamp because I travel a lot and wanted something that I can easily take with me. Also, I like to do my thumbs last so I can use my thumbnails to scrape polish around other fingers, so I didn't mind the fact that only four fingers could comfortably fit in the light at a time. I always go for the full 30 seconds with each layer, but still appreciate the light that flashes to alert you that 15 seconds have passed for those who want to heal less. The light is strong so I'm pretty sure 15 seconds is enough, I just do the full 30 just to be sure. When you remove your fingers, the light goes out. Tips for creating the perfect manicure might not be what you want to hear. The problem is not the products. This is 1000% due to the human factor. Creating the perfect gel manicure is all about technique. First, the polish needs to be given a surface to stick to. Buffing the surface of your nails is KEY. Second, it is important to use a bonder. I personally like OPI BondAid best. This draws moisture out of your nail, which is another element that helps the nail polish hold and create a long-lasting manicure. Also, don't forget to "coat" your nails with base coat, color, and top coat. Run the brush along the tip of the nail to prevent chipping. This is the "routine" I use and it works every time. Polish, wipe nails with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol, binder, gel base, polymerize, stain, polymerize, varnish, cure, wipe nails with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol, apply top coat, cure, wipe nails with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol. Hope that helps!
