Glass panel worked great. Weighed the bacon and you could see what was going on, this part was perfect. However, the plastic case melted the first time I used it (it was only on medium heat), rendering it virtually unusable. I'll keep it for myself and make my own handle for it because I like the glass part, but if you can't make it yourself try another product. Also, in its current form, it needs to be taken apart after each use to properly clean it, as there's no way to clean or dry under the center handle. Also, nothing is pulling the center screw, so if you overtighten it, the glass will break. This press is a great concept but very poor execution.
