You can see the bacon being fried so as not to burn it.

I liked metal bacon presses better because you can see the bacon as it cooks, which you can't do with a metal press. Plus, it's big enough to fill a 12-inch pan and cover all of the bacon. Even though it's glassy, it still puts enough pressure on the bacon. It's also much easier to clean than a metal press.

This product is defective - DO NOT BUY!

Other buyers who wrote about a defective ballpoint pen that broke during use should have paid attention! After 3 uses it fell apart due to the plastic wrap melting - same as the other reviewers! At $20 this useless gadget was not worth the price and I feel the seller should either fix it or take it off the market.

crumbles for dishes

Small plastic seal melts and falls off. This will make the screw fall out easily through the round hole in the glass causing the handle to fall off. You would think an idiot could figure out that a bacon press would come in contact with heat a plastic part couldn't handle! I was able to find a metal disc that works pretty well. You just have to constantly tighten the handle. On easy-care = glass is normal, under the handle it's not so easy.

Disappointing best in Tableware accessories

Very disappointing. On first use, the plastic disc melted and the handle fell off. It's a bacon press and I'm not sure why they sent a plastic disc. Difficult to clean as grease gets under the handle. I replaced the washer with a regular metal washer. On the second use, the part between the handle and the glass broke into 3 pieces when I tried to tighten the screw. I applied very little pressure and the screw was not tight. I use a bacon press regularly and hate the rust it gets on my towel or…

smart idea, poor execution

I've searched several sites for a bacon maker that won't scratch nonstick cookware. It looked like it would fit. BUT even a brand new one has a steel screw holding the glass top to the handle that protrudes a bit under the top and could touch the hob if you're not careful. Worse, the plastic sleeve or washer separating the screw from the glass top began to melt on first use. This loosened the grip enough that it could not be tightened again and potentially contaminate the food being cooked. We…

VERY DISAPPOINTED.

At first there were no WASHER with POINT, so I had to look for the WASHER. . But the WORST thing is the actual SLEEVE that holds the handle in place, melts when first used when cooking the bacon, the JAR isn't a problem, actually that's right, the problem is in the PLASTIC SLEEVE. YOU MUST UPDATE this SLEEVE. CHECKING if I should send it back. So this morning 4/25/2020 I decided to cook some BACON and I'm looking for a solution to the HUSK problem. Well I WRAPPED the BOLT with aluminum, at the…

Works great but plastic sleeve melted on first use

Glass panel worked great. Weighed the bacon and you could see what was going on, this part was perfect. However, the plastic case melted the first time I used it (it was only on medium heat), rendering it virtually unusable. I'll keep it for myself and make my own handle for it because I like the glass part, but if you can't make it yourself try another product. Also, in its current form, it needs to be taken apart after each use to properly clean it, as there's no way to clean or dry under the
