Good software is a very thorough, if not a quick, process.
I bought this drive to erase the hard drive on my 2010 Mac Mini before selling it and it has worked great. One thing to note though: don't rush to erase your drive - it took me a good ten hours to do it. I would recommend putting the disc in before dinner and it should be ready when you get up in the morning. Not exactly a quick process, but thorough: my hard drive had not even any data left and was ready for the next owner.
