Got it working! for internal hard drives

Like some reviewers, I had trouble loading the CD from my laptop. It took me a really long time to figure out what could be the problem when the computer doesn't recognize the drive. After doing some research on the internet, the first thing you need to do is go to the Boot Manager screen, disable Secure Boot and make sure Legacy ROM boot is enabled. Save your changes and press the command key, either ESC or F12 (depending on your computer) to go to the boot manager screen. You should now beโ€ฆ

Good software is a very thorough, if not a quick, process.

I bought this drive to erase the hard drive on my 2010 Mac Mini before selling it and it has worked great. One thing to note though: don't rush to erase your drive - it took me a good ten hours to do it. I would recommend putting the disc in before dinner and it should be ready when you get up in the morning. Not exactly a quick process, but thorough: my hard drive had not even any data left and was ready for the next owner.

Boots the system, runs in manual or automatic mode and erases the zero disk (boot disk)

Well, simple statement, this product does what it promises: 1. It boots the system from CD2. It works in both manual and automatic settings. This product performs a low level DoD cleaning according to the statement on the screen. The DoD (Department of Defense) has set the standard for hard drive wiping to ensure all data is removed from the hard drive. This cleaning procedure takes over a small part of the standard cleaning. Great tool for cleaning your computer.

Used 3 times. The first 2 PCs will be deleted. The third one I used was a USB DVD drive (not sure if that was the problem) and it didn't work because it needed some kind of driver. Please note that there is something seriously wrong with this PC. Also keep in mind that if you do a high-level cleanup, you can spend a week waiting for it to complete. So do your homework, the US Department of Defense standard wipe is more than enough for the average person who wants to protect their financialโ€ฆ

Works like a charm

I have an old 2008 MacBook Pro. I've tried many ways to wipe my computer before scrapping it. but in vain. Then I saw DBAN Boot and Nuke data cleaning software for Windows, Linux and Mac on CD. Ordered it, put it in the CD drive, booted up with no problems and showed you step by step what it was doing, it even has a clock with elapsed time and a countdown timer so you don't have to guess when it will expire. I tried to start the computer and everything was gone. If you've had problems beforeโ€ฆ
