Love my gravel vacuum cleaner. They make cleaning a large tank easier. All you have to do is stick the vacuum end into the tank. Make sure it doesn't fly out when you turn on the water. Connect the sink connector to the faucet. Make sure the valve at the bottom is open and turn on the water the way I use both hot and cold for more suction. When you're done cleaning you can also use the hose to refill, just lift the valve on the sink connector and the water will start to fill. If that doesn't work, make sure the hose is deep enough to support gravity and no air bubbles in the line. Overall great product 10/10
