I bought a 4 inch iGaging Dual Square for use at work. When it arrived today, I took it out of the box and tested it. Good: - Precise. - The blade is the right size and the markings are correct. - Everything is square and the blade is tight. The Bad - Everything was roughly in hand. All edges were sharp. Apparently. No burrs were removed - All adjustments were jerky and required excessive force - The square was gritty out of the box. Ugly - All edges had to be sanded down with an extra fine diamond trowel and 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. - There was a burr on the stop screw that caused most of the bumps when adjusting. The burrs were removed with a diamond trowel. - The groove on the blade required some smoothing with wet/dry sandpaper. - The entire square was washed down with WD-40 oil and then wiped dry to remove dust. finest and/or grain. The tissue paper used was black in places, so quite a bit of it. The square now runs much smoother and feels better in the hand. It has been tested for accuracy before and after forging and compares well to standards. It also passed the line test. The blade is straight and parallel. A little deburring on the part of the manufacturer makes this a good tool. If you purchase this item, be prepared for the burrs to be removed.
