Review on Optimized 3D Glasses for PlayStation 3 by Eddie Gordon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great with my new Panasonic PT-AE8000U projector

Shipping was fast. I ordered a couple of these along with the 3D Blu-ray movie Gravity. With a Prime subscription, it was delivered in two days. The glasses came in bulk packaging (bubble wrap, no retail box, no storage bag and only a very short micro USB to USB charging cable. (I used one of the charging cables for my phone)). There were no instructions, but another buyer posted a simple loading/setup process. Most people should be able to figure this out without a guide. I wear wire-rimmed glasses and have a medium sized large head. The 3D glasses fit easily over my glasses. The only points of very minor discomfort were contact points at the tips of the stems on my head. I've used them with a recently purchased Panasonic PT-AE8000U home cinema projector (which still uses the old IR connection instead of the newer Bluetooth/RF used in newer TVs today) as well as a recently purchased Sony BDP-S6500 3D Blu- ray/Blu-ray/DVD player. The glasses synced with the projector almost immediately. I used the default 3D settings for both the projector and the player (I had to set the picture mode to Dynamic on the projector to brighten it up a bit, as 3D is usually a bit darker than non-3D). I have to say I was blown away by the clarity and the amazing 3D effects. No crosstalk or distortion of any kind. I didn't see the full movie (I'll do that later) but I watched it long enough to know it would work 100% with my setup. I had to point the BD player directly at the player instead of bouncing it off the screen. like I usually do, but since both (3D glasses and remote control) are IR devices, this is understandable and not really a problem. I ordered 2 more from Revain along with the Avatar/Titanic 3D movie set. I've always been skeptical about 3D. Now I'm sold. They don't come in full retail packaging (save the bubble wrap for each jar for storage), but at the current price, that's a hell of a price! If you have an old IR TV or projector I highly recommend these glasses! Although not sold in full retail packaging (save the bubble wrap for each mug for storage) but at the current price it's a hell of a price!
