Light is not too bright, which is perfect. Solid "flip" feel when throwing the switch, it just feels like a quality piece. I'm not sure about the 30 amp rating, but it has held 24 amps well so far (didn't want to use a relay on my 288 watt light bar). Don't hesitate buying, this is a good product.This should be self explanatory, but this switch is not waterproof.
