I have it to store dog food. I wanted something that was convenient enough to avoid frequent refills, had a flip top that exposed an area big enough to fit my hand and measuring cup in, and a "grip" area hat because I have small hands and can't cover something very big. This container fits the bill in every way. Although shown as clear in the manufacturer's photo, the "grip area" is part of the container and holds the contents. Closes hermetically. Can be washed in the dishwasher (but the lid is in the upper basket). Capacity: 23 dry cups. See the photo with the container according to the size of the can. And made in the USA! A win!
