I use flour jars but really wanted something for the flour, sugar and powdered sugar. This holds 1 full 5 lb bag of flour plus some (I had a bag full and then maybe a cup or 2). Easy to take off the shelf by the handle

Sufficient for large cereals such as Cheerios family cereals. But the mouth is huge. It's big enough to put your hand in to scoop something (like flour or sugar). But I wanted it for cereal. So you need to make sure you're pouring at an angle by using the angle so you don't spill. I'm still happy with it. But buyers should be aware of the huge flap.

Finally found a hinged cover that actually closes - most don't have one. I use it for cat food and it fits a large bag (well, most of a large bag). The top opens and closes easily, the top stays open when you want it, and removing the entire top for filling is just as easy. Very happy. Oh, and the flip top opening is wide enough to slip your hand and a measuring spoon/mug in and still have room. Works exactly as I had hoped.

There are many expensive double lid containers out there that are overpriced due to their small or flimsy design, but this is not one of them. I love these containers so much I bought the smaller ones for flour as this one is perfect for cereal and the like. The lid is ideal for filling measuring cups or pouring a controlled amount.
