I had a pair of dark brown corduroy shoes (vans) that I really liked; However, I accidentally spilled a few drops of bleach on each shoe and left light pink stains on them. I hated throwing them away but didn't want to wear them out so I decided to paint them. I chose a darker color because I wanted to make sure the bleach marks were well covered and I also thought they would be a pretty brown. I've never used this type of dye - just followed the directions and then soaked it longer than stated. I really liked the rich brown color they got at first - then I washed the boots in cold water (washing machine) and they brightened quite a bit. I've thought about recoloring them and making them darker, but thought I really like the color at the moment and I can always do that later if I want to change it (there's a lot of color left). I will definitely use this product again!
