February 2020: A preview that I will update when the grinder is used. First impressions. I'm not sure how you can get variable speed other than turning it on and off. The paddle shifters can apparently do it, the travel is so short that trying to hold the paddle for say 20% travel is good luck. ) is well written and easy to read. They strongly recommend the use of a special guard for the use of cutting discs, as these guards contain fragments of the cutting disc that can break during use, which can happen. Although DETECTION said guards were required, that's another matter. A long search on the Bosch website and deciphering their numbering scheme shows that for a 5" grinder the correct Type 1 or 41/1A guard is 18CG-5E. Now try to find EVERY place where they are available. Sold out on Amazon, sold out on other sellers. Safety is good, but if the part can't be delivered, what good is Bosch? I guess everyone just uses a type 27 guard because the mill comes with it.
