This is my second shock absorber on various Ford trucks. I hate tailgate falls and my wife really doesn't want to bother with 50lb activities. This luggage rack guarantees a smooth and safe opening of the tailgate. So you can operate the back door when your hands are full. Installation is easy enough, but I always check YouTube before installing anything. A special feature of this strut is that it also slows down the closing of the tailgate. No more lifting and slamming. You have to be patient when lifting. I would never have a tailgate without a strut. They should be standard factory equipment. But since there is none, this is the solution.
