I am a young 63 year old (husband 8 years younger and 20 year old daughter). In the last 10 years I have gained too much weight, mainly on my stomach. I'm currently losing weight and looking a little better, but I still don't feel like I look very good in a regular swimsuit. I have not felt comfortable putting on a suit and swimming for several years (as I was a size 2 about 15 years ago I am now a size 12). I ordered this suit ready to be a little disappointed. It turned out to have far exceeded my expectations. It's well done. There are no gaps or weird folds anywhere, and the tummy control really works! And it's so darn cute that I can still wear this style even after the weight and tummy are gone. Either way, it's probably more appropriate for someone my age. It's flattering, but it doesn't sound like you're trying to hide anything.
