I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. It had an erratic speedometer, sometimes it worked fine, sometimes it jumped between actual speed and zero, and sometimes it just showed zero. The check engine light never came on. I replaced the sensor on the steering wheel and nothing changed. I replaced the sensor and everything works. The sensor does not come with a shaft or wheel, so you will need to use the sensor on your old one. (mine looked fine). The location of the sensor on my car is under the gearbox (as above) next to the axle. You can reach the screw next to the car firewall to remove it. The sensor worked perfectly and solved my problem. Delivery was flawless and it was an original OEM sensor with genuine Kia and Hyundai badging.
