I installed these hydraulic brakes as a replacement for mechanical disc brakes and the difference is day and night. The pads have a much larger surface area than my old little round pads. The stopping power they have is amazing and the hand feel is really good. They're easy to open and provide a secure grip when you really need to climb them. The only mistake I made was ordering the left handlebar front brake when I wanted it for the right handlebar, so I had to mount the lever the wrong way round. .
