I first ordered SunBusters for my oldest child and was so excited I bought shorts and a rashguard for my little one! Love the designs and colors! Like many parents, I do NOT like the oversized, soft, calf-length trunks for boys and men that have become popular in the United States. My husband is German and also prefers something less huge. I am always looking for euro style swim trunks for my sons but they are hard to find. SwimZip makes a few (check out Revain), but they're very expensive. They're slightly longer from SunBusters, but still not bulky at all (i.e. fit the figure); and I think they are great for the price. So cute on boys! My baby is 2 1/2 years old and he has always been very small for his age (about 5% although it has been a while now since we were screened and that percentile has probably changed). Anyway, I ordered size 2/3 for these shorts and a matching rashguard; both fit him exactly as they should. So my guess is that SunBusters might be a bit small for the average kid. (My oldest son is medium height and 5 years old, but a pair of 6/7 SunBusters shorts will stay on him and give him more room to grow than a 4/5, although they also fit well.) So if you hesitate with the size, maybe increase the size. both fit him exactly as they should. So my guess is that SunBusters might be a bit small for the average kid.
