While not a professional carpenter I have been using hammers for 40 years on various projects such as room extensions and decks, forts, skate ramps etc. I'm pretty sure I recently decided to install about 1,000 square feet of new flooring and baseboards and new window and door frames and figured now would be a good time to get a new hammer since my kids and/or wife always use some of them. I wanted mine. I paid a few extra bucks to get the "Made in USA" Estwing and it's well worth it. That's a great hammer. Appearance is pleasant. The headstock design looks both cool and practical, keeping the weight where you need it. I don't have about 4 hammers at home and the feel of this grip (it's a bit narrower than my other 16oz hammer) is great. I have fairly large hands but I really appreciate the feel of its smaller diameter grip. Buy it. While the differences may be subtle, use a hammer so often that small differences add up to a big difference and will last forever.
