Review on Dorman 55164 Isolator Bolt for Ford Engine Intake Manifold in Select Models by Travis Filippi

Revainrating 1 out of 5

One of the eight intake manifold isolation bolts had a bad thread (no pitch).

We screwed in seven screws by hand, but the last one didn't go into the threaded hole. We already unscrewed one of the screws by hand and just screwed it into the last hole. We attempted to insert the last screw into the now vacated hole and the threads would not turn even with more force on the screw. We inspected the initial threads on the bolt and the burrs didn't look worn or bent. We ended up having to return one of the old screws that we had removed and installed with no problem. After assembly was complete, we examined the non-tapping screw and found that the threads had a defect (no pitch) as shown in the photo on the right versus the old screw on the left. gth 06/03/2019 It was a knurled thread, but the raw material has shifted. I gave one star because a lot of time was wasted because a defective thread was delivered and one of the screws was not replaced.

Pros
  • Made from high quality materials for durability
Cons
  • Damaged
