Yes, it doesn't make a ton of ice in one go, but you can use it to stock up on ice. The difficulty is filling the chamber while preventing the middle canister from rising (the water pushes it up). After a little practice (and patience) it worked. I use a measuring cup with a pointed tip to fill it up slowly. I try not to overfill it so water doesn't get into the middle canister. I like that it doesn't take long to freeze (maybe 3 hours?). You can also store ice in the central canister. For 10 euros I think it's worth it.
