Review on Lenovo Legion Y540-15 Gaming Laptop 81SX00NNUS: Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB RAM, 512GB+1TB Storage, NVIDIA GTX1660Ti, 15.6" IPS Display by Amit Amit ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Im not particularly happy, but basically everything is fine.

Configuration Y540-81SX (not PG0) i7-9750H, 16GB RAM, 128+1TB, RTX 2060 6GB(Mobile); FullHD, 60Hz, 45% NTSC, 250nit General impression: I rarely play games (5-10 hours max per week), the laptop was mainly purchased to work as a replacement for the 520 model. And for the required purchase amount, I expected higher quality. Has some pros Build quality, design, classic design, excellent keyboard (quiet, comfortable to type on), keyboard backlighting is white and this is also a very convenient solution, not a rainbow of colors. The material feels good to the touch. Has some cons Noise / squeak of chokes under load on the CPU. Matrix - FHD, 60Hz, 45% NTSC, 250 nits, "VA" panel (positioned in Y540 as IPS) - matrix quality is disgusting! Flashes (leakage of backlight), the color gives off yellowness (warm shade of white). In the previous model Y520 (IPS, FHD, 60hz, 45% NTSC, 250 nits) everything was fine with the matrix. 128SSD+1TBHDD is not the best (both manufactured by WD). The SSD is slow (PCI-e 3.0 x2) after the previous Samsung PM961 SSD (PCI-e 3.0 x4). Better would be 512GB SSD (PCI-e 3.0 x4) or 1TB SSD (PCI-e 3.0 x4) respectively. But alas, at the time of purchase there was no choice. There would be no complaints about the noise of the CO, but in the browser / programs mode it makes a “mooing” sound. If you divide by modes in my opinion, then this is the 3rd (third) mode of operation of the fans. 1-disabled, 2-not audible at all, 3-mooing, 4-noisy, 5-very noisy. The noise of CO operation is good. Not intrusive except for 3 modes. If we compare the noise of CO operation with the ACER NITRO, PREDATOR models, then this is heaven and earth.
