I also recommend purchasing a flanged nut for the top

These mirrors will require work upon receipt. Thread and rod are 2 different parts. I think the manufacturer glued them together. I've used JB welding and it seems to work. I also recommend getting a collar nut for the top. The mirror heads also need to be tightened. There's a small screw that works for a while, but you'll probably need some silicone on the pivot once you get it where you want it. I usually use Harley-Davidson motorcycle mirrors, but I figured better since the heads were bigger. OK!
