This improved idling and may have improved overall performance.
This made my 1999 Dodge Ram 5.2L better. The idle is smoother and it may or may not move better on the road. I used to have a truck like this and cleaning the IAC and throttle body made a huge difference. This is a fairly common part to replace on 5.9L and 5.2L Ram Trucks.
