HDMI OUT to Old VGA Monitor

Most importantly, this cable allows you to connect an HDMI computer (desktop/laptop) to an old monitor that only has a VGA input. Not the other way around! Several people have bought this to connect an old machine to a newer monitor. This cable will not work. I made the mistake of buying this to connect my old Dell Optiplex to a newer LG 4K monitor. That does not work. The product description clearly states that it is only an HDMI -&gt; VGA and not a bidirectional cable. My fault so I decided to leave the cable. I can use it at work.
