This is a really good lanyard. Wood 3/4" thick, pure softwood with a straight grain. I'll bet it's spruce, but it could be pine or fir. The skin is excellent, very dense texture on the front, very short pile on the flesh. The size is large.enough for any knife or woodworking tool I have.I know you can make them yourself but at this price and quality of material I don't see why I would..only good to avoid splinters Then is it's good to go. The composition is ok, there are many others on the market if you get more into it and find out what you like better.
