Despite its good design, this filter does not meet the required standards. The filter does not have a uniform round shape on the inside, plus a piece of sheet metal that holds the filter material together (visible from inside the filter). The sheet metal itself makes the filter uneven in weight distribution. In Honeywell devices, the filter is used as part of the stabilization method. If the weight of the filter is unevenly distributed, the fan system will vibrate slightly and the fan will run at a higher speed. Vibration eventually leads to premature failure of the fan. The manufacturer was probably not aware of this requirement. Not recommended as an OEM replacement.
