Review on πŸ”§ Rear Brake Pad Sensor by URO Parts - 34351164372 by Brian Evans

Easy replacement, fits my 2002 e46 325i Touring snugly

When my e46 325i Touring's brake pad wear light came on on the dash I started looking for replacement parts to do the job myself. This is URO Parts 34 35 1 164 372 The rear brake pad sensor was quite cheap and I had no hesitation in choosing URO as I had previously used their parts to service my Volvo. I'm happy with the quality of this part and I don't regret my choice (Midge Ure version if you will). The cable length was correct and installation was easy, just following the cable routing from the old sensor. before you remove it. I inserted the new cable from the junction box once I removed the old cable. You'll find that the small junction box that protects the ABS and pad wear sensor connections is a bit fiddly when operated by touch. it is located behind the sill, under the trailing edge of the rear right hand door (outside for those of you who live in the UK, "driver side" for those in other RHD markets, or "passenger side" for those of you whose steering wheel is on the *wrong* or left side of the car). Safety Advice: Before working underneath, make sure your vehicle is securely supported by a suitable support such as a jack stand. If you end up with a car on your head, we'll rename you Jack. You will also likely have a headache. The best way to avoid this is to work safely. If you are considering other optional parts when shipping this sensor, such as B. Brake discs, you might want to look at the ATE caliper drive pin bushing kit and some high temperature silicone brake grease for the pins. . As with everything in life, if you are unsure about servicing your braking system, simply leave it to a professional. While you might not end up on your attorney's Christmas card list, you'll still get stuck on the brakes. Take care. After replacement, the brake pad warning light is likely to remain on, making your dash look like a Las Vegas Christmas tree. To reset the warning light, simply turn the ignition key to position two while holding the driver's door open for about 20 seconds. The computer restarts and recognizes that the circuit is closed and the display goes off. Although you probably won't hear bells ringing and angels singing at this point, you can choose your favorite music as a placebo. I enjoyed Atoms for Peace: Amok and enjoyed a job well done. It was the best, because Christmas trees are best saved for December, right?
