Another thing Apple dropped from its new 2018 MacBook Air is Ethernet. When I'm on the road, it helps a lot in customers' offices. Wireless is great when it's available, but many companies have weird portals for accessing wireless networks (which require employees to jump through hoops). And sometimes they just don't work well. Ethernet is, well, Ethernet, and if it's available, it's needed in these circumstances. Having USB-C means I can plug in an Apple video adapter (another dongle) and (how impractical is that?) and be able to get my work done. It amazes me why Apple decided to carry a dozen keys in their pocket to actually make the MacBook work, but that's where we ended up. This device works perfectly!
