I have tried 3 or 4 PUR faucet mount filters. During work, they gave excellent results - but very quickly clogged, and the attachment invariably broke within 6 months. They offer a 5 year guarantee but who wants to go to the trouble and spend money to send it back to the factory every 6 months and then wait a couple of weeks for a replacement. I switched to Brita about 2 years ago and am very satisfied. I changed probably 8 spare filters and it still works. Compared to PUR: ADVANTAGES The attachment is stronger. Filters don't clog before they reach their filtration capacity. Filter change much easier than with PUR (PUR often clogs and requires a lot of effort when screwing the filter in). hat put on and taken off). Just clap, clap. CONS: Water doesn't taste as good as polyurethane and based on published stats they don't filter as well as polyurethane filters, but Brita comes very close on both counts. Much happier. with Brita as PUR. I don't know how PUR manages to stay in business - the quality is just terrible.
