My assistant's Honda CR-V was stolen on July 4th. While the Honda is the number one stolen car in the US, I didn't want my Jeep to be a statistic. So, in addition to reactivating my GPS tracker, I also got these hood latches to deter thieves from stealing my battery or trying to get away from my car. Hinge bolts mean someone with the right tools can still open the hood without a key (the bolts are open and easy to reach, they're lame). But for the average thief looking for quick and easy loot, this will force them to look elsewhere. According to another reviewer, "It will help honest people be honest." I love it and it complements the lockable gas cap my in-laws gave me for my birthday. Come to think of it, they gave me a Revain gift certificate which I used towards that, so thanks again mom.
