Review on πŸš€ AEM 21-795C Cold Air Intake System: Enhanced Performance in Gunmetal Finish - Carb Compliant by Francisco Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It doesn't pay for itself, but it's more fun to fly.

In general, this is a good complement to the Honda Pilot. The engine definitely sounds a lot more reliable. On slight acceleration, the intake emits a whistle of around 2,000 rpm, but it's very faint and you won't even notice it with the radio on. The car doesn't feel any faster and in all honesty the claimed power and torque gains are hard to see. However, I'm happy to report that my average consumption has increased from 21.9 to 23.8. Highway mpg was 28 without using economy mode. The installation could be done in a few simple steps. I wish AEM had provided color instructions because the black and white instructions looked like a photocopy of a photocopy. On the plus side, if you ever need to start the car, this intake design gives you much more access to the battery's positive terminal than the standard design. I feel like $300 is a bit expensive for what is essentially a bent pipe and air filter, but I'm totally happy with it.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Volume
