It took a while to set up, but I did it and everything is working fine now. Let me start with why I only gave 4 stars. This is because the mounting bracket only allows up and down adjustment. Not side to side. There is a mount that can be bolted to a tree or pole. This mounting bracket has a ball that allows you to adjust the sensor. When you place it on the ball, a bolt penetrates it to hold it in place, preventing lateral adjustment. Others I've had had a nut that screwed in tight to hold it in place. They are usually made in the same way as a phone mount in a car. Now I don't care because I mounted it on the side of the tree which allows me to move it to get the position I want. If you had a flat surface it would be very handy. Now let's move on to other things. The receiver can be plugged into a power source or use 3 AA batteries, which I highly recommend. With batteries, I can place the sensor where I need it and then start walking around the area I want to detect while holding the receiver that lets me know when the sensor picks up movement. I have quite a long driveway. So if I couldn't use the batteries, someone else in my house would have to listen when it ran out. It's annoying. You can adjust the volume on the receiver. There are 5 settings, one is silent. You can also change the tone. There are many to choose from. The sensor has 3 sensitivity settings. I use medium settings. You also have the option to disable the touch eye, which allows it to still detect motion but reduce the visibility of the sensors when motion is detected. Everything is now pre-programmed from the factory, so all you have to do is literally place the sensor where you need it and then connect the receiver. The kit includes two receivers that run on solar energy. If you only use one receiver, you must turn off the unused one, which is located next to the sensitivity control on the sensor. Again, they're solar powered, but the instructions (which are easy to follow) say you need to charge them first before installing and using them. The directions state they can have enough energy to last up to 12 months. Basically they work for me and detect when a car pulls up in front of my driveway. I had incorrect readings for about a day until I found the right setting for me. Now they work fine and I don't get any false alarms. I definitely recommend this product. If you still have questions, just check out my video and photos and you'll get an idea of how I set it up.
